Our friend Hank at the Surry Transfer Station has been keeping an eye out for useful junk for our technology club. We had some fun last week taking apart an old turntable stereo system and seeing what makes it work! Motors, capacitors, transformers, resistors, diodes and more!  Taking things apart means we learn what things are, what they do, and then we will be reusing them in our own circuits. Next project, signal amplification!  If you have a piece of old stereo equipment that is going to be headed to the dump, why not donate to our program and let us dissect it in the name of science!?  Please, no TVs or tube monitors. Older, outdated receivers and amplifiers have the best stuff inside them for us to reuse.
