Thanksgiving Lunch

posted Nov 17, 2016, 12:59 PM by hnawrot@brooklinschool.org
Today, we joined as a community, to celebrate Thanksgiving by having lunch together. If you attended as a guest of your child, or simply attended as a member of the community, you know what a wonderful meal we all had.
An enormous "Thank you" to Mr. Spivak,  Mr. Carson , Mrs. Blake, Mrs Fill and Mrs. Courtot, for cooking the turkey and ALL the trimmings. It was absolutely delicious.  A special "Thanks" to the 6th, 7th and 8th graders who helped prepare the food and clean up the kitchen. A huge "Thank you"   to Mrs. Nevin for baking her wonderful pies. Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without the pie!
It is so meaningful to have students, teachers, families and community members sit together and enjoy eating great food. Thank you to all those who worked so hard to prepare and serve the meal and to all who attended.
If you stayed after the pie was served, you heard our 2nd and 3rd graders (plus a few other students) sing the "Turkey Song." Mrs Hull has been performing this annually for some time and almost every student in Brooklin knows it by heart. The audience was also treated to a selection of music performed by the Brooklin School Band under the  direction of Mr. Shrader. We enjoyed it very much.
