A Word

From Our Principal

“As your principal, I look forward to building relationships with all Brooklin School families. Our families are an integral part of our students’ success. It takes all community stakeholders to prepare students for the future. I am committed to enhancing our parent engagement at Brooklin by welcoming all parents to take part in school events and activities. My door is always open. Please come and join me for our weekly Coffee Social each Friday starting at 7:30. ”

The Brooklin School VISION

We are respectful, curious, and kind. We are all unique and learn together as equal members of one community. We care about each other, we care for ourselves, and we work to make the world a better place.

OUR APPROACH TO LEARNING

The Brooklin School combines academic rigor with an engaging curriculum. Learning is enhanced by hands-on experiences and community-based projects rooted in a real-world context.

OUR STAFF

A dedicated and passionate group of highly skilled educators lead the Brooklin School, fostering a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. Teachers, staff, and school partners find joy in learning and model that enthusiasm for students.

OUR LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

The Brooklin School is a safe, welcoming space that nurtures the development of healthy and confident students. A lively, rich, and warm educational setting sets the tone for joyful and purposeful learning.

OUR STUDENTS

Brooklin School students are resilient, compassionate community members who appreciate their differences, follow their curiosity, and strive for excellence. Each student’s individuality is embraced and supported as they pursue their unique educational path.

OUR COMMUNITY

Broad community support and involvement enriches the Brooklin School experience and anchors Brooklin students with a strong sense of self and place.
Our School

What sets us apart?

The Brooklin School is excited to be one of the few middle schools in Maine to offer a year-round boat building program for students. Students design a paper model, visit the WoodenBoat School to get acquainted with the space, tools, and safety precautions, and then start building. With the guidance experienced, Brooklin boatbuilders they are introduced to the world of wooden boats.  Upon completion of their boat, the entire Brooklin School and local community celebrate with a launch party. The builders then get to spend time on the water navigating through the Eggemoggin Reach. It is a rewarding experience that none of them ever forget. Visit their facebook page for great pictures and information.

Brooklin School Curriculum
Our curriculum in a comprehensive pre-school through grade eight scope and sequence of appropriate grade-level learning. It is grounded in rigorous standards, connects locally when possible, and requires students to be global thinkers and problem solvers. Read More
Enrichment Activities
The Brooklin School offers both in and out of school enrichment opportunities. We have a history of competitive sports’ teams. In the fall, we love to play soccer and when the colder months arrive, we take our love of sports indoors for basketball. We also take pride in our musical talents and our students always fair well at the music festivals they enter. We are very lucky to have a performing arts teacher who involves the entire school in a spring musical.
Brooklin School PTF
The Brooklin School has a very active Parent, Teacher and Friend group. The mission of the Brooklin School PTF (Parent, Teachers and Friends)  is to rally broad support for the Brooklin School. The PTF seeks to enrich the lives of students by encouraging open communication and cooperation among parents, administration, students and the greater community. The PTF will coordinate parent volunteers and provide monetary support for student extracurricular activities and teachers’ educational items not currently funded in the school budget. Join us in making Brooklin School even stronger. Read More
