100th Day of School is approaching

posted Feb 15, 2017, 10:38 AM by Julie Wilson
With so many snow days, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school after February vacation.  (Today is Pre-k's 95th day of school.) Over the vacation, I would love for students to put together a collection of 10 items: buttons, shells, pennies, pom-poms, rocks, popsicle sticks, or other items that can travel to school in either a large zip lock bag or cereal box. We will then count and combine the collections during our 100th day celebration. (If anyone has a collection of 100 items to share with the classroom, we would truly appreciate it!)  We are working on counting to 10, and numeral recognition between 1-10;  many of our students are counting confidently into the 20's when we do our calendar during morning meeting! We are being shape detectives by finding and naming: circles, squares, rectangles and triangles.
