Math Update

Students worked hard on scientific notation this week. Not only did they learn how to convert between scientific notation and standard form, they compared numbers in different forms and learned how to multiply numbers in scientific notation. Can't you hear the doors of science opening wide? I know I can!
Students also began a little practice with computational thinking as we prepare to participate in the Bebras Challenge next week. This is the first time Brooklin School has taken part in this challenge, so it is an exciting event. The Bebras website states that "The Bebras Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking to students. It is organized in over 30 countries and designed to get students all over the world excited about computing." You can learn more at
