Math Update

In 4th and 5th grade, we spend a good deal of time modeling the mathematics we are doing. This is crucial in the development of students' understandings of the processes we are learning. This week, we were modeling the multiplication of decimals. Students made great connections between what the visual model looks like and what happens in the traditional algorithm. Before vacation, we received a letter from Santa asking for some new blueprints for elf houses. Students took this task on with gusto!
